Note: a curious portrait of Grotius, showing also the portraits of Maria van Reigersberch (1589 – 1653), Rombout Hogerbeets (1561 – 1625), Carolus Niellius (1576 – 1652) and Eduard Poppius (c. 1576 – 1624). Among the portraits are interior images of the rooms in Loevestein Castle where they were held captive.
