On top of that, we also provide you relevant information about the people portrayed. Surpassing just genealogical data, we also deliver insights into people’s occupations and nationality.
Our current understanding of nationality is a bit different than in earlier times. Not in the least because states rise and fall and boundaries shift over time. For that reason, we at The Online Portrait Gallery, choose to refer only to modern day nationalities. That’s why you will see – for example – the nationality “Italian” for Julius Caesar. We choose to do so to make things more clear and enhance your possibility to search our inventory!
